Huska Creek Cabin, Catskills - one of the only remaining famous 'Bolt Together' houses as seen in Vogue, The New York Times, AD and more.
A gentle pause from the pace of everyday life. Huska Creek Cabin - 5 minutes from cute ‘The Gem of The Catskills' town Delhi - is designed to help you slow down, reconnect and simply be with nature. A unique property nestled in 6.5 acres of pristine Catskills woodland in upstate New York, just three hours from the City.
We have a serene private creek, mountain view & meadow. Staying here is an experience. Close to the best of the Catskills - 15 minutes from the famous Brushland Eating House, close to amazing hiking and skiing spots and charming unique towns. We are lucky!
Check our Airbnb listing for reviews, we are established Superhosts who have been hosting for 8 years yet now is the time to move away from third party booking sites (for your benefit!) - book direct to save on fees.
❋ The space We're tiny - but quality. Huska Creek Cabin is more than a place to stay - it's a magical experience. You feel fully immersed in nature, yet have all the mod cons - speedy WiFi, modern bathroom and loft bedroom.
❋ Why we are unique Huska Creek Cabin is one of the only remaining famous DIY 'Bolt Together' houses that was designed in the 70s by architect Jeffrey Milstein. There has been a huge amount of media attention around these houses having featured in many design books. We were keen to keep this important legacy alive.
❋ What to expect The cabin feels like you are away from the rest of the world but has all the mod-cons you’d want:
Very speedy WiFi (more than good enough for remote working/Zoom calls/movie streaming)
Beautiful hot shower
Central heating system
Complete kitchen
Chromecast-enabled projector (all set up for you - no need to bring anything) and huge pull down screen
Smart speaker
Record player
Super comfy queen-sized bed and high end linens
❋ Policies
Accept credit / debit cards and Paypal. Accessible 24/7, pets NOT allowed, smoking not allowed, wheelchair inaccessible, not suitable for children.
❋ Where is Huska Creek Cabin?Huska Creek Cabin feels like you are in your own woodland oasis but is close enough (under 10 minutes!) to two towns (Delhi and Andes) so as not to feel isolated. Delhi and Andes are home to a bounty of makers and creators who have transformed the area into a bastion of unique small businesses.
Delhi - Hollow, Blue Bee, Good Cheap Food (not what it sounds like - Health food, produce, cheese, meat, fish, pasta, Asian section, baked goods, health&beauty+), Strickland Hollow (Farm & Distillery Tasting Room & Bottle Shop), EIGHTYMAIN (amazing Italian), vintage and antique stores and more.
Andes - The Andes Hotel - restaurant and bar, Cafe Mutsi, Wayside Cider, Wild Common wine and liquor, also home to ‘Oh Boy Market’ July 3rd / 4th (a MUST!)
Also close to the famous Brushland Eating House.
Things to note
Guest access:
The entire cabin and 6.5 acres are yours to enjoy. You will hear only the creek and wildlife and will not be disturbed.
There is a private gravel driveway that cuts through the meadow so you can park directly above the entrance to the cabin.
Our property manager will co-ordinate check in and will be on hand if need be.
Other things to note:
Huska Creek Cabin is a tiny house. As the cabin is very unique and is situated next to the creek we had to think out-of-the-box with some things.
We have a top of the range waterless toilet. We did not want to pollute the landscape so went with an alternative that is super easy to use.
The loft bedroom is one of our favorite things about the cabin as you get a full 360 view of the forest and sounds of the creek. Just note that the loft is accessible only via ladder (see pictures).
The cabin is accessible via a wooden staircase from the meadow so we ask you to please take care when entering, especially during the winter months.
We do not have a TV in the old school sense (we think TVs ruin the vibe as distract from the views / decor) but have a projector and huge 100 inch screen, fully equipped with Chromecast TV
The BBQ is available to use all year around and is a charcoal BBQ.
The outdoor fire (Solo Stove) and fire pit on the meadow are available for use all year around. Please bring your own firewood. You can get this from Delhi (the gas station, Price Chopper, Tractor Supply and many other places) - just a 7 minute drive away.
